.- Harry Orenstein is the inventor of the "hole cam", the camera that shows a players hole cards to the tv audience. The camera was first used in 1997. When Orenstein wasn't making small cameras he also found the time to create Transformers, those wonderful kids toys of days gone by

.-Next time your sitting around eating lunch you can thank John Montagu, the Fourth Earl of Sandwich.  It seems back in the 1700's ole John was an avid poker player, so much so he wouldn't get up from the table to eat.  Instead he would  get someone to bring him a piece of meat between two slices of bread.  Johns delicacy caught on and soon other players were ordering "what Sandwich is eating" and the rest is history

.-Richard Nixon won $6000.00 playing poker during his first two months in the US Navy. He later used his winning to fund his first run for the US Congress

-"Dead mans hand" was given it's name when Wild Bill Hickock was shot in the back while playing  two pair, Aces and Eights

.-It is widely believed that playing cards were invented in China in 1120 AD-A starting had of Q-7 is known as a "computer hand". This is based on a story that a computer proved that these were the most commonly occurring cards on the flop.
